|
|
Whenever I try the BT Broadband speed test at
http://www.speedtester.bt.com/ after the initial "The Performance
Tester is now testing Broadband connection. Your configured download
throughput speed for this service is 6500 k" I get this message:
"Exception::access denied (java.net.SocketPermission
217.32.105.42:50301 connect,resolv"
and the progress bar freezes at 96%.
Anyone have any idea what's happening here please?

Try using IE rather than Firefox.

Wouldn't have IE installed on my machines if you paid me. I have to suffer
it at work, that's enough..!

Well, I'm certainly not going to pay you.
I tried the speedtest 3 times yesterday, first 2 times with Firefox
and finally with IE. Third time lucky.
I wouldn't dream of not having IE installed. I also wouldn't dream of
using it any more than necessary.

Well on this platform Id have to work pretty hard, fire the box up in
legacy OS9 mode, and use version 5...
Even harder if it were Linix..
I also wouldn't dream of

If all else fails, I do have a PC in another room, that has actually got
a version of IE6 on it IIRc.
Its never used. |

The Java applet attempted to connect (open a Socket) to IP 217.32.105.42
(speedtest.btcentralplus.com.) on port 50301, but the connection was denied.
Probably your firewall.
