I have been told that I can access 3G broadband on my phone for a fiver a
month... Is that still correct? (I have read its a tenner)

What is the monthly download cap and what are the restrictions?

Can I only access certain sites?

Can I use the service as a modem to my laptop?

Is the service reliable?

Can I use it on the move to access ebay, MSN, Paypal and Skype?

What phone do I need, presumably a 3G model?

What sort of speed should be possible?

Is there restrictions on what model of phone I use?

How is the service paid for?

Does it have to be paid every month? (Dont need it every month)

Thanks Steven

Hi Stephen,

Monthly download cap 1GB - £10.00
3GB - £15.00
7GB - £25.00

No restrictions for normal usage p2p not allowed in T&C's

You can use the service through your phone but for the high speed
HDSPA connections you'll need a £50 USB broadband dongle, availiable
on pre-pay from 3.

If you want to use a phone you'll need a 3G one.

I get 70kb/s to 100kb/s on HDSPA

Service paid for by pre-paid voucher

You can choose when to buy a top up, you need not buy one every month.

Hi Stephen,

Monthly download cap =
1GB - £10.00
3GB - £15.00
7GB - £25.00

Wrong.

Internet on phone

Internet 10 = 10mb for £2.50pm
Internet Max = Unlimited (2gb fair usage) for £5
X-Series Silver = Unlimited (2gb fair uasge) for £5pm (includes some
additions to Internet Max

Phone as Modem

Broadband Lite = 1gb for £10pm
Broadband Plus = 3gb for £15pm

I think Jack misunderstood that you wanted to use your laptop & didn't
want a contract...

The web link to the relevant 3 web page is below -

http://www.three.co.uk/personal/products_services_/mobile_broadband_/payg.omp

I can say I've not had any reliability problems with my connection,
although the download / upload speed is dependant on how many users
are on the particular network cell your on.

The OP stated "3G broadband on my phone" and also "Can I use the service as
a modem to my laptop" and asked what phone they would need.

Although the OP said they didn't need the service every month there was no
mention of whether the phone used would be Contract or PAYG. There is no
contract term for the internet add-ons and I believe they can be added or
removed on a monthly basis.

The AddOn is purchased monthly yes, but fortunately you don't need to
do anything to remove it. It simply expires on the day shown in Your3
account information.
